What do we do?

The Hazelwood Early Learning Hub is a place for Hazelwood’s early learning community to gather, learn and play!

Who do we help?

In partnership with the Greater Hazelwood Family Support Center and the Carnegie Library of Hazelwood, each of the Early Learning Hub’s programs is intended to give early childhood educators, parents and families the resources they need to provide their children with the best possible early childhood experiences.

Early learning educators are supported through our high-quality, innovative professional development events.
Relative/Neighbor and home-based providers are supported through our Come Play! Program; a time to bring their enrolled children to the Early Learning Hub to enjoy.
Families are supported through our Raising Readers Parent Clubs and Family Get Togethers as well as programming through the Greater Hazelwood Family Support Center.

The Pittsburgh Association for the Education of Young Children (PAEYC) works to support high-quality care and education for young children from birth until age nine across 10 counties in Southwestern Pennsylvania. PAEYC provides professional development, community resources and advocacy for the needs and rights of children, their families and the individuals who work with them.

PAEYC works to

Educate parents, individuals working in the field, and other stakeholders about the best practices in early childhood education, and to help improve the quality of services provided to the children of our region.
Communicate the value of early childhood education, so that, as a community, we can make wise investments in the future of our children.
Elevate the status of professionals working in the field of early childhood education, so we can continue to attract and retain individuals who are highly skilled and committed to children and their optimal development
