Meals on Wheels is a food delivery service to home-bound seniors. We deliver food on a daily basis to Hazelwood and surrounding area.

Who do we help?

Hazelwood Meals on Wheels was founded in 1968 in order to serve the local senior population. Since then, the Meals on Wheels program has become a beloved and trusted program in the community that has served thousands of meals yearly. The Hazelwood community took ownership of the program since its inception and it remains an excellent example of a successful community-based program. Today, it runs out of Hazelwood Christian Church in coordination with a number of local programs and community members. The Hazelwood Meals on Wheels meals are comprised of a fresh-prepared “entree” with generous servings of a protein, vegetable and starch. Additionally, the meals come with a brown bag “lunch” with milk (delivered weekly), a daily-prepared sandwich and whatever components available from our local partners which can include fruit, cereal, yogurt, crackers, small desserts and other snacks. Hazelwood Meals on Wheels serves fresh meals each weekday and can provide frozen food for the weekends. They are closed for major holidays and for serious inclement weather, but furnish consumers with extra food in those instances. Volunteer Opportunities
