Listing Description

The A. Philip Randolph Institute’s Breaking the Chains of Poverty program, crafted in 2009, is a pre-apprenticeship program in partnership with United Steelworkers, the Housing Authority of the City of Pittsburgh and GTECH Strategies. The program has trained 360 youth in skills related to building, construction, and the energy sector. The program has achieved a black male participation rate of 64% and a 67% black male graduation rate.

My Brother’s Keeper Goal Area Five – All of our youth who have graduated from college or a training program are employed.
